If you've followed this blog for any amount of time, you probably have the same understanding as I do that this is most definitely not a Proper Music Blog - I write about what I listen to and events I've been to here (in a somewhat disorganised manner) because I'm always excited to talk about things I love and hopefully help get them to a bigger audience.
However, we're getting to a point where occasionally nowadays, I get sent things that I'm asked to talk about on here, or I'll meet someone that hands me one of their CDs. I'm always grateful when this happens because it makes me so happy to be in a position where I can help lesser known artists share their material, even a tiny bit (and if you make music or know someone who does I'd love to know about it) But to keep a healthy relationship with you as an audience, I want to let you know that I'll always mark things I've been approached to review with an asterix.
Having said that, it doesn't make much of a difference if I stumble across a support act, hear something on the radio, a friend recommends it or it lands in my inbox: I would never write about something I wasn't a fan of myself or didn't actually like and believe in. I would never promote something for hollow reasons, or lie about it to be polite - it'd ruin the whole concept of sharing things because I enjoy them, and want you to as well, and I think you'd all be smart enough to know if I didn't believe in something. I promise I will never be dishonest or endorse something for any other reason than that I think it's worth talking about.
Thanks for sticking around, and love always.
